An Art Therapy Group for Adopted Teen Girls
6 Week Group Starts in March
We are currently seeking participants for a 6-week therapy group for teen girls wishing to explore issues related to adoption and identity through art.
What?
Group facilitators Rachel LordKenaga, MA, LMHC, ATR and Christina Malecka, MA, LMHC will implement structured group exercises, art therapy, and unstructured discussion time to encourage girls to speak their truth and validate each other’s experience. No prior art classes or experience are required: the focus is on process, not product!
Who?
Girls ages 13-17 from all backgrounds and adoption scenarios (domestic adoption, international adoption, foster-to-adopt, etc) are welcome.
When and Where?
The group will meet in downtown Seattle on Friday or Saturday evenings from 5:30-7:00 pm and will start in March 2010. Meeting day and start time will be dependent on participant interest and availability.
How Much?
The cost is $40 per girl, per week with a one-time $20 materials fee.
