Scope of Practice

I have experience - over several years - as an Ordained Minister and a Pastoral Counselor. I have served in a parish setting as well as communities in New York City, Vancouver, BC, Yukon Terriotory, Alaska, and Hawaii. I have been a mental health counselor in residential mental health, as well as Intensive Case Management. I use a multi-denominational faith-based counseling approach which, includes traditional psychological theories and practices.

Values and Philosophy

I provide a safe space where clients can be open and confidentially discuss their issues and concerns. Personal strengths and resources will be explored and old behavioral patterns that no longer work will be re-directed so that new and effective ways of being can be created.

Therapeutic Technique and Methodology

My approach, when working with clients, is to use a universal Christian understanding that God's love, grace, mercy and forgiveness which is there for all people. I examine and explore community and societal beliefs in order to define racial issues. The modalities I use aref family systems, cognitive-behavioral and narrative therapies. I assign tasks for goal achievement as appropriate.
